It begins inside the gates with their innovative and transformational trauma-informed healing curriculum and mentorship. Pastor Charles and Betty Williams recognized that reentry support can’t wait until the women are released. The healing must begin while they are still inside. They assist the women in prison who desire to change their lives and want to end their cycle of incarceration and generational trauma by providing them with the tools and resources they need to transform their lives. They take a holistic approach to reentry, equipping the women physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally for their return to society.
Betty Williams is the founder of BW Focus, a counseling service that promotes healing by applying complementary strategic approaches and techniques that will help the women identify and unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that are holding them back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. Through BW Focus, she provides family dynamic support, grief management, stress management, addiction and recovery support, guidance counseling and conflict resolution skills.
Upon release, they continue to support the ladies as they transition back into a society that often shuns them due to their criminal background. They continue to provide mentorship to the women as they transition into an often scary and unforgiving world. It is their hope to soon open Victory House, a transformational home for women returning from incarceration where they can receive all of the skills and healing they need to become successful, whole and economically independent.
